Coda Community Choir
Wednesday 19.00 – 21.00
St John’s Centre, Main road, Southbourne,
£6 / session
We have just done our summer concert and everyone said how much they enjoyed it and what a great sound we made. In Coda we love to sing in four parts and quite a few of us read music. Our practices are fun – I have made friends in the choir and we always stop for a tea break and a catch up.
Coda's Winter concert
Coda Community Choir had their Winter Concert on Sunday 15th December at Southbourne Village Hall.
The Theme was ‘Christmas-Tide’ with music with a ‘water’ theme in the first half and Christmas music in the second half.
Violinist Kate Brewer joined Richard on guitar and Paula on piano to give a more ‘celtic’ feel to the evening.
£295.00 was raised for the Cancerwise Charity in Chichester with a raffle.
Coda's Summer Concert
Coda Community Choir had their Summer Concert in Southbourne on Saturday 29th June.
As a celebration of Musical Theatre, the audience were treated to music from ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, ‘The Lion King’ and ‘Blood Brothers’ to name but a few! The choir sang their hearts out on the warmest evening of the year so far.
This concert saw Coda invite two guest soloists, Rebecca Holland and Naomi Miller to join them and of course, they were accompanied by Richard Rahaman on Guitar. Also thanks to Tim Hudson our sound engineer.
We managed to raise over £230.00 for the Stonepillow Charity in Chichester. A Brilliant evening!

Choir gathering a success!
Joint choirs event a great success
What an afternoon! Great singing, a lovely social occasion and we raised £150 for Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice! We have already had so many compliments about all your impressive performances! Thank you all for making the afternoon such a success!
Special thanks must go to our comperes, Robert, Rob and Caroline who gave such expert introductions to each performance and brought us their personal insights about their choir and each song.
We were also delighted with your achievement of singing our joint numbers. It’s not always easy to sing together in a spontaneous performance…”Should I be singing this bit?” “Where are we?” ……. and we thought you rose to the challenge amazingly well and the result was inspiring for us for the future.
Thanks also to our musicians, Rich and Sam for adding great musical colour and atmosphere to all your songs.
Thank you, We hope you enjoyed the day too!
All the best,
Hilary and Paula x
